CISV er en religiøst og politisk uavhengig barne- og ungdomsorganisasjon som arbeider for fred ved å skape større forståelse mellom mennesker fra ulike kulturer og nasjoner.
This is an activity to make the delegates reflect on respecting the feelings, time and property of other people and see the connection to why countries go to war against each other. The group is split into different teams which all get the task of making a sculpture with a CISV and peace-related theme. The teams spent a lot of time planning and building their sculpture, and when they were done they were sent around to observe and enjoy the other teams’ work. While at another groups exhibition they got a message that someone had destroyed their sculpture. We observed them as they reacted to the message and the feelings they got, witnessing som groups wanting to destroy the sculpture they were at as revenge. When the activity was over we revealed that is was just a game and we had a long debriefing session talking about how they could relate this activity to situations outside of camp and in the world in general. Great activity!
