CISV er en religiøst og politisk uavhengig barne- og ungdomsorganisasjon som arbeider for fred ved å skape større forståelse mellom mennesker fra ulike kulturer og nasjoner.
People from the chapter, from Oslo, CISVers, guests and friends all gathered at our school Sunday to take part in the Open Day. The delegations made stands outside with pictures, treats and colours from their country to share a bit of their culture to the visitors.
Afterwards we invited everybody inside for an Open Day show where all the delegations presented a dance or song or play from their countries. It was a huge success! All the delegates had also prepared a dance to the song from Frozen “Let it Go”. They practiced all morning and loved to perform it on stage for the audience!
Last part of the show was very special. We had a guest joining us, an elderly Norwegian man, who actually went to the first ever CISV village in Cincinnati, Ohio 1951! He told us about what it was like to be in the first CISV village and how it is similar to and different from our village today. It was really exciting to meet him!
