CISV er en religiøst og politisk uavhengig barne- og ungdomsorganisasjon som arbeider for fred ved å skape større forståelse mellom mennesker fra ulike kulturer og nasjoner.
The Stereotypes game is a tough but interesting activity to make the delegates aware of their own stereotypes toward other countries as well as understanding how others view themselves and their culture.
Every delegation writes the name of their country on a piece of paper, and then the paper travels from group to group, each group adding stereotypes and characteristics about the country on the paper.
This makes for a emotional debreefing about what others think of your culture as well as the power of cultural understanding as we learn in CISV. The delegates talked about how making friends from other countries can change their negetive impression of a country and how they can use their knowledge to make an impact and change people’s point of view. A lot of good reflections and learnings came out of this activity!
